Project Pretty Little Cravings

Few years ago, I fell in love at first sight. It was like heavens thoughtful act that we met at the right time. I was in need of a breather and a cozy nook to relieve the stress I was in. I heard retail therapy also works at that time, but I’m pinching some for a future big event then. So, I was really happy to be spending quality down time with this new found love, authentic budget-friendly, Swedish home decor store — Ikea. Oh, the days I spent just wandering around Ikea store, no matter how I already memorized the interior maze still brings about a gratified feeling.

When I finally settled down and owned a place to decorate and fill with all the gorgeous furnitures and fixtures, Ikea was not available readily in the Philippines. And I cringe at how expensive Manila resellers market these items.

Fast forward to 2013, I  decided to start a little project, called Pretty Little Cravings on Instagram. We were furnishing our newly turned-over condo unit and I just had to ship few items from Singapore where we were based. I figured out I can save on shipping cost if I take some orders from people who were just like me, eager to get their hands on some few pieces from Ikea. The project was well received and up until now, I still can’t believe that a lot of our avid followers are also returning customers.

The Phantom of the Opera in Singapore

My last vague memory of Phantom of the Opera was in 2004, on my birthday, when my aunt brought me along with my cousins to watch the film adaptation. That long ago and I still dream to witness how grand the production will be in Broadway, well next to Les Misérables.

Raoul, Erik and Christine’s complicated love story is complimented  by impressive musical score by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Dramatic scenes are cut to be the most spine-tingling performance. Continue reading

The Hunger Games : Catching Fire Trailer

Dear November, please hurry up. I can’t wait to see the latest installment of The Hunger Games series in theater. A sneak peek trailer debuted at the recent MTV Movie Awards 2013 and it never failed to impress. I’m obsessed with the book and Catching Fire’s character Peeta Mellark is an ultimate crush. The Girl on Fire, Katniss Everdeen is fierce as ever.

The Walking Dead Series Infograph

A few weeks back, I jumped into the bandwagon and decided to started watching The Walking Dead Series. It was gruesome and twisted yet has the most amazing storyline in the history of TV.  Hands down, the production cast and crew are all genius. Needless to say, I am hooked.

Now if only February 10 comes fast, we can all find out what fate awaits on brothers, Merle and Daryl at  Woodbury. I was disappointed that Michonne left the Governor alive and that Andrea hasn’t come to her senses yet. More disturbing is the lives of Hershel, Carl, his baby sister and the rest now at stake with the arrival of new survivors.

This is going to be a long wait and my week isn’t complete until next year. You see I’m already crushing on Daryl, I hope he makes it alive till the end. Go Team Prison!

Until then, here’s a creative look of the Walking Dead Series statistics via an infograph of the National Post. See how the Zombie killing machines fair with their tools and dispatch.

Know Your Allies and Secret Friend

Lunar New Year is just around the corner and while I’m all excited for the holidays, some are extremely focusing on what good luck may bring on this Year of the Dragon. I’m not a firm believer but I hope a little feng shui will help attract some positive qi on my life this year. Some say for the Year of the Water Dragon, everything is magnified tenfold.
