Our eyes, is the most amazing part of our body. It can talk and express our feelings in so many ways. As we grow older though,  we are left with only a memory of clear vision and healthy sparkling eyes.

We often neglect these pair, yet we abuse it even more before we realize that it’s too late for an extra pampering treatment. Our eyesight by now is worn out by too much strain on using our daily gadgets: computer, mobile, iphone, ipad, tv and gaming devices.

I myself am guilty with this. I don’t wear prescription eyeglasses and most of the time, working in front of a computer for long hours gives me an eyestrain .

For months, Ive been searching for a nice pair of spectacle which I can use to prevent my vision from further deteriorating. It wouldn’t hurt if it will come in a stylish, geeky look too. I visited a few optical shops but then again I have to try a few bunch of frames but none fits my taste. It’s hard to choose between tons and tons of frames if you’re always pressed on time.

Shopping for different eyeglasses has never been easy until I stumbled on Zenni Optical, an online shop for eyeglasses. There’s a lot of feature on the site including a filtering system on the left side where you can search according to style, rim-type, gender, price and a lot more. Price starts at $6, which is really affordable for expensive looking styles.

There’s also an added feature called Zenni frame fit where shoppers can upload their picture so they can see how the frames fit on their faces. So creative! I was able to try a few myself. I particularly like this full-rim frame. You can try on all frames and share it on FB!

When we were planning about our wedding, one of the things we have to decide was whether to have a black tie event or stick with the local barong tagalog for men. It was tough to pick between the two as they both have an edge over another.

For a black suit event, I love the idea of having little boys donning their stylish suit with their cute bows. My friend had even suggested to have a themed boys ties. It was a brilliant idea indeed, since I know of where to have boys ties personalized. I can even pick a silk or colored one that matches our color motif.  A perfect accessory to complement the  little men’s outfit.

In the end, we decided to pull off a Barong Tagalog event since most of our guests don’t own a suit. Oh sad, no cute boys ties but at least my groom was elegant with his pink tie.

Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but for women of a certain age, nothing beats a new pair of heels. For stressful days and restless nights, beyond working hard, shopping is the ultimate  retail therapy. It can heal your broken heart, it takes you to places and sometimes, it makes you wild and crazy.

My new love : Charles & Keith Wedge / Pump Shoes in Cream

One thing I will never forget about lectures on corporate dressing is that when you’re in doubt, dress up! You can’t go wrong, even on a bad hair day.

Since I will be exploring new opportunities again, this is something I’d love to walk in. I’m not a fan of platform wedge shoes  in terms of using it for a professional, conservative environment, but this one takes the cake. There’s an edgy look into it that takes the ordinary Mary Jane into something more fabulous. It’s soft and comfortable. The pumps border between modern and vintage.  I love it more than my stiletto.

This C&K shoes was first featured by Liz. She have it in muted taupe shade.  Thanks to her, my shoe hunting trip was cut off from two days into minutes by directly dashing to  Charles & Keith Store at Bonifacio High Street. Damage : P1,199.00 and it’s so worth the price. I know our love affair will last longer.

Beaded flats from Bangkok

This color beaded flats are quite a steal from our shopping spree in Bangkok. From a stall called Pixels at one of the sprawling malls of Thailand’s capital, it’s not impossible to find cheap, hip and trendy footwear. Afterall, Bangkok is a well-known shopping mecca for shopaholics. I have a feeling that I’ll be back soon.

The vibrant colors compliment any regular outfit and a good statement piece too. It’s funky, cute and stylish! The best news is that it only cost 390 baht or about P550.

A girl can’t resist falling head over heels, can I?

Forever 21 is an American chain of clothing retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates and more. This month,  it finally opens it’s first ever Philippine Store.

Last July 2, 2010, Forever 21 officially opened it’s door at the 2nd level of SM Megamall A in Mandaluyong, Philippines to cater the Filipino market.

I absolutely adore the spacious store and the extensive collection when I got to visit this weekend. In Dubai, my friends and I can lounge at Forever 21 and try different outfits and never get tired the whole day. Good thing they almost have the whole block in Megamall, it makes the store roomy despite the bulk of people going in and out. There are several Dressing Rooms for everyone. Oh, and got a view of Heart Evangelista roaming around.

I can’t help it but shopped for few good pieces. Their prices are almost the same with Internet based shopping and US-based flagship store. The company that brought this successful fashion outlet in the Philippines is SM group. With that, don’t forget to swipe in your SM advantage cards when shopping.

Lately, I’ve been caught up with the idea of going back to school. Who wouldn’t love being at school again when there’s something new to learn and new people to meet? You get years of wisdom after college and you think you can ace the exam easily now that you want to go back.

I have been inspired with so many people who went through another course entirely different from their field and took another shot to fulfill a dream.

I have high respect especially to those working double shift and breadwinners, yet they still aspire for education and success.

What course am I considering to get myself into is another confusion since I have so many on my list. I wanted to take a short course in designing, or anything about graphics and computer stuff, then there’s interior design and fashion design and my newest desire to take law. Did I mention I have a lot on my list? They aren’t completely related I know, so that seems to make it more complicated to choose only one.

Before jumping in to the bandwagon, I had to rethink and ask myself if its really worth it or if its really what I wanted to do. Law is something I should be serious about and I don’t want to start with how to fund my expensive schooling.

I don’t want to start something and give up without a battle especially when the only problem is me, not trying to get late on class or waking up early. Plus the fact that I think, that my mind is so preoccupied with a lot of things, that I don’t know how to make room for assignments, reviews, and thesis.

I think the most important factor I’m missing is passion. The desire to reach my goal. I’m still undecided, so I can say that passion is still broken. I’m not 100% fully committed and when the time comes that I already am, I think I’ll give it a go, no matter what the cost is.

The top beauty essential in looking best at any age starts with soft skin. Second would be the sense of style. Summer, beauty, fashion – Oh, don’t you love being a woman?

Nuffnang Philippines  sent me an invite to this year’s Unveiling of Soft Look Collection by Johnson’s Body Care, in collaboration with Bayo and Watson’s. This is my first event with Nuffnang, having missed a few fabulous happenings in the past, this one got me quite excited to see a promising revelation.

I listed my friend, Toni, to be my plus one and finished off half my work early to use the extra time to dressed up and go glam. I did missed one thing though. The invite mentioned soft elegance. By the time, I finished picking the right wardrobe, I have piles of dresses on our bed and about 30 minutes before the show starts.

The event was held at Encore (formerly Embassy Super Club), Bonifacio Global City.

I’m still a bit early as the show was running late. I did a few rounds of photo op while waiting for Toni. Delicious Hors d’oeuvre were served at the cocktail party.

J&J has pioneered the care of Filipina skin from the start. I did grew up with a wide selection of their products, from shampoo, soap to skin care collection. Even now, I’m still a big fan of Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath.

With last year’s launch of Johnson’s Body Care, Women of all ages don’t need to worry about moisturized skin all day and radiant glow.  A range of body lotions does wonder to look and feel younger with soft, beautiful skin.

In partnership with Bayo,  we witnessed the unveiling of 2010 Soft Style Collection.

The models look gorgeous as they showcase the 10 chic summer dresses. The softest look collection marks a milestone to summer fashion.  The runway was filled with short, flattering, luxurious fabrics of chiffon, lace and tulle. All fluttery dresses with lightness of its flowing ruffles. Each dresses flatters every bit of woman’s sheer beauty.

The fashion show was well attended by fashionistas, bloggers, media and Metro Manila’s fashion critics. Hosted by model – MTV VJ, Sarah Meier.

The New Soft Look Collection are available at Bayo until June 15, 2010.
